WHAT ACTIVITIES CAN BE DONE IN TAFÍ DEL VALLE?

Tafí del Valle has many activities to offer to its visitors. Among them stands out the famous Abra del Infiernillo; a mountain pass with about 3042 meters above sea level, the highest passable point in the entire province of Tucumán. Llamas and sheep, as well as Andean cats and tarucas are common. The views are spectacular and, thanks to the humid weather, the landscape is characterized by a green mattress that extends throughout the valley.

Another of the favorite activities of tourists is the Mirador del Cerro de la Cruz. The visit to the place involves a simple walk of approximately 30 minutes (we can make it slower if you wish), from the center of Tafí till you reach the top of the hill. There, the cross that gives the place its name awaits us. The sunset from the top it’s wonderful.

There is also the Mirador del Indio, on whose top you will find the monument to the Indian or El Chasqui, a structure of 6 meters on a base of about 10 meters. In addition, it gives us spectacular views of the area and the opportunity to buy local handicrafts: there are several stalls with products at the base of the viewpoint.

Do not miss visiting El Mollar, a town that is located a few kilometers from Tafí and very close to the hill of Uñorco. The city is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, the green of the hills is complemented by La Angosturawhere you can do nautical and fishing activities. It is 800 hectares! And you can visit any time of the year, but the chances of doing activities in the water grow during summer.

Right there in El Mollar, a few kilometers from Tafí del Valle, is located El Parque Provincial Los Menhires. It’s an enclosure with cultural manifestations called Menhires, pieces of carved stones which were transported 2000 years ago by their inhabitants. As they spent a long time without shelter, hundreds of them were lost and others were partially destroyed. Today, the protection of the pieces is in charge of the Provincial Park.
