    WINE CELLARS IN CALINGASTA VALLEY

    Thanks to the luminosity of the area and the thermal amplitude between day and night, which is more than 20 degrees, Valle de Calingasta has an incipient winemaking that stands out with its mature Malbec wines and Cabernet Sauvignon. The most outstanding wineries in the area are: Alta Bonanza de Los Andes, Bodegas del Carmen and Entre Tapias.

    WINE CELLARS IN PEDERNAL VALLEY

    Located in the southwest of the province, at an altitude of between 1300 and 1500 meters above sea level and at the foot of the Andes Mountains, the vine soil of Valle de Pedernal is more “poor”. For this reason, the productions of the place are more limited. However, its wines rich in polyphenols and great concentration of color, ideal to withstand several years of storage.

    The most outstanding winery in the area is Graffigna Yanzon. It is probably the most important in the entire province, as it has a history dating back more than 150 years with the arrival in San Juan of Don José Graffigna, great-great-grandfather of the current directors of the winery. The Finca was called Don Duilio, but with the modernization of its descendants they renamed it after its visionary ancestor.

    TULUM VALLEY, SAN JUAN’S LARGEST WINE REGION

    It is the largest wine region of San Juan, surrounded by mountain laces and with arid relief. In this Valley many varieties of red and white wines such as Malbec, Syrah, Bonarda, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonay, Viogner and Chenin are developed. The most outstanding wineries in the area are: Augusto Pulenta, Bórbore, Hagmann, Callia, El Milagro, Alta Verde, La Guarda, Las Marianas, Marale Wines and Romano Pin.

    ULLUM-ZONDA VALLEY AND THE VINES SOIL                 

    Very close to the capital of San Juan is this valley that is characterized by the production of varietals such as Syrah, Malbec, Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon. The most outstanding wineries in the area are Apotema and Sierras Azules.

    WINE PRODUCTION IN FERTILE VALLEY

    This valley is located at the border with the province of La Rioja. It has a great thermal amplitude and an average land altitude of 800 meters above sea level, which makes this area not traditionally related to viticulture. However, it is possible to find good quality varietals such as Cabernet, Malbec, Syrah, Tannat and Torrontés.
