    But where do you find it? This Museum of Natural Sciences is located at Miguel Lillo 251, in San Miguel de Tucumán. Its opening hours are: on Monday from 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs; Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 hrs to 12:30 hrs and 14:30 hrs to 18:30 hrs; Saturdays and Sundays from 4:20 hrs.

    ·         SUGAR INDUSTRY

    Within the famous 9 de Julio Park is the Museum of the Sugar Industry, a property whose main building is the ex-house of Bishop Colombres. A very well preserved and super interesting period construction to understand how they lived at the time.

    Both the decoration and the furniture of the place remain intact, moving each visitor back to when Bishop Colombres put together the original wooden Trapiche and became one of the pioneers of the sugar industry that today is a fundamental pillar of the economy in this province.

    It should be noted that the original Trapiche is not only on display, but visitors have the opportunity to maneuver some of the instruments used to grind the cane and thus obtain the sugar. To learn about the history and the whole process in depth, the explanatory panels are presented.

    ·         MUSEO DE LA PACHAMAMA

    At Amaicha del Valle can be found one of the most interesting museums of the province, the Pachamama Museum, where all the information and precious pieces related to Mother Earth are exhibited. 

    This museum turns out to be very attractive since it was designed and built by the plastic artist Hector Cruz. All the sculptures, saloons, decks and patios have his signature, with each corner of the museum exclusively inspired by Pachamama. Here all the mythological symbols and ancient gods’ sculptures can be admired.

    The main areas are divided like this: Geology, Anthropology and Natural Sciences. However, the highlight is the exhibition room, where you can find paintings, sculptures and canvas with religious, social and cultural themes from the tribes that used to inhabit the Calchaquíes Valleys.

    ·         QUILMES RUINS MUSEUM

    A few kilometers from Amaicha del Valle are the Ruins of Quilmes. A site of great importance for the province of Tucumán, which is included in many of the itineraries we offer you from Moebius.

    Opened a couple of years ago, this museum aims to show the culture of the Quilmes to visitors of the place by displaying key pieces and utensils that they used for their daily tasks. They also share information about the rituals and cultural acts that used to be performed.

    The goal is to teach visitors about the culture of the Quilmes before getting to know the Ruins. In this way, you can understand better what you will see in the enclosure and move back then.
