We don’t know if you know, but one of the most famous waterfalls in Argentina and the world share territory with Brazil. This is how one of the Seven Wonders of the World gives us two distinct attractions. To help you understand a little more, in this article we’ll talk to you about Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side.

To enjoy this magical place, you must visit each of its extremes. Yes, that is, the Argentine side and also the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls. They are two different points of view and attractions and both have a lot to offer, so we recommend that you include both excursions in your travel itinerary. One complements the other!

There is a fairly simple explanation when it comes to making the differences between the visit to the Parque de Brasil and the National Park of Argentina. Visiting Iguazu Falls from Brazil is like being public to a play from the front row, as it gives us the best possible view of this natural monument.

In the meantime, on the Argentine side is like being on stage because we have the possibility to get much closer to the fall of two-thirds of the waterfalls that make up this wonderful natural space. In a nutshell, one side gives you the best panorama and the other gives you experience.

    IGUAZU NATIONAL PARK

The Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side are located in Foz de Iguazu, about 28 kilometers from the city center. It covers approximately 108,000 square meters of land, of which 4,000 are of covered constructed area and 50,000 are parking.

The Iguazu National Park is open from Monday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. in summer and until 17 hrs in winter. Access is through the Visitor Center, where the visitor transport service is located. There are 8 panoramic double-dened buses, with capacity for more than 70 seated passengers. The top of the bus is completely open for greater interaction with the environment and a better view of the flora and fauna of the Park during the tour to the Falls.

Admission is paid before check-in and there is price difference for Brazilian residents, Mercosur citizens and the rest of the nationalities, so we recommend that you do not forget your ID or passport. Can be paid in Argentine pesos, Brazilian royals, US dollars, euros or credit card.

The National Park Iguazu has sanitary facilities in several points and parking. It also offers the possibility of lunch or getting some snack. Simply put, what eating on site shouldn’t be a concern if you’re traveling with children.

TIPS FOR TOURING THE BRAZILIAN SIDE OF THE FALLS

The tour of the Iguazu National Park is considerably shorter than that of the Argentine side, usually lasts about 2-4 hours. Our suggestion is that they try to make the visit first thing in the morning, by taking advantage of the less crowded schedule of tourists and, in that sense, being able to enjoy the tour much more.

As for what to bring to the visit, while the tour in general is quieter and there’s not as much contact with the water, you’re likely to splash a little on the catwalk. That’s why carrying a towel will never be too much.

Likewise, just in case, you can include a change of clothes in your backpack. On the other hand, what you should definitely include in your backpack is sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent and sunglasses. These accessories should be worn yes or yes. In the meantime, the shoe should be comfortable, with anti-slip sole and preferably waterproof.

If you have and wish so, you can include a protector for cameras and mobile devices such as mobile phones, you don’t know if they might get wet! In case you travel with children, we invite you to consult more recommendations in traveling with children to Iguazu.

If you should make the visit in the morning as recommended, you will have the option to combine with other attractions of the area. A great alternative is Duty Free, a space for tax-free purchases of international products, thanks to its location at the border. It is also an excellent activity to do if you have any rainy days or for those who want to bring a present back home.

If you are not interested in shopping, we recommend going directly to the Bird Park, a very interesting and fun site for large and boys about which you can read more in our blog post dedicated to the best activities to do in Iguazu.

In conclusion, the Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side are a must-see for your trip to this destination. Contact our travel specialists for more information on the tour and all the advice you need, they can also help you assemble your travel itinerary if you ask!
