Iguazu is one of the best destinations in Argentina to visit as a family. There are many excursions that you can make with children, not to mention the attractions outdoors and in the middle of nature that are great to share with the little ones of the house. So don’t worry, travel with kids to Iguazu if possible. If you have any doubt, we share some tips and activities for you on this article.

TIPS FOR VISITING IGUAZU WITH KIDS

Travelling with kids can be challenging, especially when we don’t have more details of the destination. It is important to know whether or not there are activities suitable for children and even suitable accommodations for them. Fortunately, Iguazu is 100% recommended for an adventure with kids.

Because most activities and excursions are part-time (half-day), you can’t help but stay in a hotel with swimming pool, where younger guests can continue to enjoy and adults can relax. No biggie, most units have swimming pools and even special activities for both children and adults. Check out the top 10 best hotels in Iguazu.

In case of a visit to Las Cataratas de Iguazu, we suggest that you start the tour on the Brazilian side, which gives us an ideal view to enter this fascinating natural monument. Yes, the fun will be found on the side of Argentina, after the proximity to the falls and the possibility of having contact with the water. In this sense, Brazil-Argentina will avoid wrong disappointments or expectations among children and, on the contrary, they will love it.

Already in the Argentine area, you should keep in mind that the distances that are traveled through the Park are significant, so it is suggested that you take the train for one of the sections to avoid getting the kids unnecessarily tired. Moisture, heat and wet red prevent the road from being lighter. Another option is to divide the visit to Iguazu National Park in two days.

Whatever option you choose with your family, don’t forget to inform the children about the ban on feeding the park’s animals. Additionally to avoiding the consequences of this on the environment, we must prevent bites or other injuries of the fauna towards them

Speaking of food, it is essential –as in every trip with children– that you carry a backpack with some snacks and water, also a sunscreen, hat, and insect repellent. A change of clothes if they get wet, a towel and a swimsuit for the Falls as well. Travelling with kids to Iguazu will be a great experience.

Remember that because it is a park shared by two countries, you will have to comply with your own migration procedures, so don’t forget your ID or passport and other documents, according to the requirements that are in force for your country of origin (original birth certificate or family notebook and permission for minors in case they travel with a single parent).

ACTIVITIES TO DO WITH KIDS IN IGUAZU

As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, in Iguazu there are many activities to do with children, not to mention the natural entertainment provided by the environment. Here are the favorite attractions from children:

    ·         IGUAZU FALLS

There’s not much else to tell you than what’s already been discussed. However, we reiterate the importance of visiting both sides of Iguazu National Park, the Argentine and Brazilian sides. Thus, you will be able to live the complete experience without waste!

    ·         BIRD PARK

In Foz de Iguazu we find the famous Bird Park, where visitors will be able to see more than 1000 birds of about 150 different species. In addition, along the almost 17 hectares of the park you will find several activities that the kids can do to complete the visit.

    ·         ICE BAR

Despite its name, it is not a Bar in the proper sense of the word, as it allows the entry of minors: its main goal is family fun. Built with more than 50,000 kilos of ice, this place with a temperature of -10°C offers all kinds of drinks, activities and dances. Ice sculptures are also on display. It is definitely a very special and fun place for all ages.

    ·         RIDING IN THE JUNGLE

Another activity that can be very interesting to do with boys is the caval riding that runs through the jungle. During the journey that is traveled on horseback you can see many local fauna, trees and, depending on the route, you can even visit a Guarani village.

These are the tips and activities that we recommend to travel with boys to Iguazu. There are many more attractions, though! You can find out more about them in our article on the top 10 best activities to do in Iguazu. In case you want help creating your itinerary, do not hesitate to contact our travel specialists.
