    The weather in Jujuy

    The climate of Jujuy is pretty diverse. In that sense, it is a determining factor in deciding when to travel and which places to visit.

    To talk about the climate in Jujuy, the first thing you should know is that it is one of the provinces with the greatest climatic diversity in Argentina. This is all due to its several ecosystems: Altiplano, Valleys, Yungas and Quebradas. In that sense and, although it is privileged all year round, it is decisive when visiting this destination.

    To have a better reference, we tell you that the climate of the province of Jujuy can be divided into four parts: temperate region, subtropical or warm region, Sierras Subandinas region and Quebrada de Humahuaca region.     JUJUY CLIMATE IN THE TEMPERATE REGION

    Within this region we have the departments of the capital of the province, San Salvador de Jujuy, El Carmen and San Antonio. 

    The city ​​of San Salvador de Jujuy is located 97 kilometers south of the Tropic of Capricorn and has a subtropical rainfall regime; this means that summer is rainy and winter is dry.

    Between November and March, an average of 750 mm is recorded, which represents 83% of the annual total. Therefore, the city is very hot in the summer; especially at noon and in the early afternoon (with a humidity of 70%).

    On the contrary, during the winter the maximum temperatures oscillate around 20°C. This means that the weather is very pleasant, mainly at noon and in the early afternoon. The nights are quite cold, reaching temperatures below 0°C. 

    Although autumn is also pleasant to visit this region of Jujuy, the ideal season is spring.

    WEATHER CONDITIONS IN QUEBRADA DE HUMAHUACA JUJUY

    La Quebrada de Humahuaca is part of the Rio Grande basin and has a dry and cool climate that translates into a desert climate

    This climate has many clear, clear days with very little rainfall (limited within the summer months). This favors tourist activity all year round.

    The average temperatures range between 19°C and 23°C over the months. Nights are usually cold in rainy season and colder in the dry season, coming to values lower than 0°C.

    TEMPERATURES OF THE WARM OR SUBTROPICAL REGION OF JUJUY

    This region is made up of the departments of San Pedro, Ledesma, Santa Bárbara and part of the Valle Grande. It is an ideal place to be visited in winter thanks to the good climate and the low rainfall that occurs in the region during this season. 

    Meanwhile, spring and autumn can be a little rainier but you can still visit. Summer is the less conducive time to visit this area due to high temperatures and humidity. 

    CLIMATE IN THE SUB-ANDEAN MOUNTAINS

    The region of the sub-Andean covers a large part of the province and includes the departments of Cochinoca, Yavi, Santa Catalina, Rinconada and Susques. In this area the dry and cold climate predominates with intense winds throughout the year.

    In the region of La Quiaca, the temperature reaches 15ºC or 20ºC below zero in the months of June to October. However, from November to April the minimum temperature ranges between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius below zero.

    As you can see, the climate of Jujuy is very diverse with a particularity according to each region. However, in general, it is pleasant at any time of the year; although it can change on the same day due to the thermal amplitude
